The Top 10 Madden 24 Quarterback Ratings

Jun-20-2024 PST
Madden 24
The Madden series is known for many things and among them is its heavy reliance upon real-world statistics upon which it bases its player and team rankings. Rising from video game fact to NFL reality, Madden QB ratings, in particular, garner almost as much press as the vaunted cover athlete.

For some teams, the Madden 24 QB ratings were more hotly anticipated than the game itself as it gives them some insight into the relative statistical ranking of each team. From a video game player’s perspective, however, Madden 24 quarterback rankings take on an entirely different meaning in the context of a match with another player. Indeed, sometimes having the better QB can be the difference between a W and an L.

Knowing who is ranked what will also help you size up your competition. Here, we’re going to take a look at the top 10 best Madden 24 quarterback rankings so that you can know who to choose and what you’re dealing with when it comes to game time.

10. Tua Tagovailoa - 83 - Miami Dolphins

Few players have had as much hype in the Magic City as Tua Tagovailoa since probably the days of legendary Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino. After three standout years in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide, Tua Tagovailoa was selected fifth overall in the NFL draft by his home team, the Miami Dolphins.

As far as Madden 24 QB ratings, Tua Tagovailoa comes in at number 10 with an 83 overall ranking and a particularly awesome 96 in the Throw Accuracy Short stat, making him one of the best in the game in this area. One area where Tua Tagovailoa really struggles compared to others in the top 10 is his ability to maneuver with the ball which means you’ll probably want to keep that in mind when selecting plays.

09. Kirk Cousins - 84 - Minnesota Vikings

Hailing from Michigan State under Mark Dantonio, Kirk Cousins experienced a recent renaissance with his past season where he led his Minnesota Vikings to a 13-4 season record propelling him to his second-highest ranking in the Madden QB ratings and also his twelfth appearance in the Madden series.

Coming in at 84, Kirk Cousins has a 98 Play Action rating which makes him ideal for players who like to change up plays on the field but, given his seasoned nature, he isn’t too good at mobility so players might want to avoid running him all over the field. To compensate for this, Cousins’ passing stats are some of the most solid on this list.

08. Aaron Rodgers - 86 - New York Jets

A man who can’t seem to stay out of the headlines or the limelight, Aaron Rodgers’ arrival at the New York Jets was hailed as a new era for both the player and the team. Entering the NFL in the 2005 Draft at the 24th pick by the Green Bay Packers. This is also Rodgers’ 19th appearance in Madden where he previously posted 99 scores. Falling to 86, Rodgers is still no slouch with 98 Toughness, 97 Stamina, and an 85-breaking sack rating making him a tank of a quarterback in the game. Rodgers might not be where he once was but his Madden 24 QB ratings still place him among the best and players can count on him for a solid performance.

07. Justin Herbert - 87 - Los Angeles Chargers

Eugene, Oregon’s own Justin Herbert began his career at Oregon before being selected sixth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers. Since that time, he has performed as a standout player and a lynchpin for the Chargers’ offensive surge. Even though he took the Chargers to the post-season, his Madden 2024 QB rating actually dropped by a point to 87 which is interesting given his recent success. Other stats are outstandingly impressive including a 96 Throw Power which makes him ideal for players who like to run nimble offensive plans.

06. Dak Prescott - 87 - Dallas Cowboys

Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott first arrived on the Dallas Cowboys roster in the 2016 NFL Draft where he was selected 135th overall. Now a star on the field, the Cowboys’ QB has an overall rating of 87 comprised of 97 Toughness, 95 Stamina, and 94 Run which are near the top in each category. This translates into Prescott being a great overall choice for players and, situated at number 6, his ranking on this list somewhat belies that notion. Dak tends to be a favorite choice for players for this reason and offers a compelling balance for players who can’t make up their minds.

05. Jalen Hurts - 88 - Philadelphia Eagles

Another veteran of the Alabama Crimson Tide on this list, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts is a known quantity in the NFL, and his performance is without question. And at an 88 Madden 24 QB rating, he’s the dividing line between the top five and the rest of the field.

This includes a 94 Throw Accuracy Short rating which makes him ideal for quick passing strategies up the field. Rising from 74 in Madden 23, Jalen Hurts’ 88 Madden 24 quarterback rating is a huge improvement and reflects his rising star status. Hurts is a great player who wants a little bit of everything with an emphasis on short passing and speed.

04. Lamar Jackson - 91 - Baltimore Ravens

There are two things you can guarantee from Lamar Jackson: Exceptional athleticism and a penchant for superstar status. Both of these are present and accounted for in Madden 24 QB ratings for Jackson.

With an overall rating at 91, three points higher than Jalen Hurts at number 5, Jackson can count 96 Toughness, Speed, Acceleration, and 97 Play Action and 95 Throw on the Run ratings. If you read between the lines, it sounds like Jackson is pretty much good at everything and you would be correct. This makes him a versatile player who is adaptable to play styles of a variety of gamers and an excellent choice overall for matchups. With such strong stats in throwing and running, players should expect to play a light-footed game with Jackson and will have the ability to throw more often than not.

03. Josh Allen - 94 - Buffalo Bills

Drafted by the Buffalo Bills as their seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Josh Allen is one of the few hyped-up stars to more than live up to ludicrously high expectations. Coming in at a 94 Madden QB rating for this latest outing, Allen’s stats are as formidable as they are impressive.

The 94 rating is composed of a 92 Acceleration rating and 88 Speed rating which, combined, make him one of the most agile quarterbacks in the game. The 99 Throw Power stat stands out in particular, however, because this translates into a ton of options when it comes to plays on the field.

02. Joe Burrow - 95 - Cincinnati Bengals

Selected first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft, Joe Burrow is one of the few to debut at such a high ranking to maintain it.

The overall Madden QB rating of 95 largely draws from Burrow’s impressive throwing stats - the best in the game - which include a 99 Throw Accuracy Short and 98 Throw Accuracy Medium. Given how much Burrow has done for the Bengals, analysts anticipate he will only grow in terms of his rating in the coming years as Burrow is still at the start of his career.

01. Patrick Mahomes - 99 - Kansas City Chiefs

The number one spot probably comes as little shock to NFL fans and those who pay attention to the headlines. Superbowl winner and overall young legend Patrick Mahomes tops this list at an overall 99 Madden 24 quarterback rating which, as you can imagine, is largely due to a list of impressive stats. 99 Toughness, 98 Awareness, and 97 Throw Power make him a formidable QB on the field. Given such overwhelming numbers, he should be a comfortable choice for most players, and the Kansas City Chiefs, specifically, are a great team to learn the ropes of Madden 24 if your game is a little rusty.

Of course, Mahomes’ ranking, again, isn’t surprising given his two Superbowl wins as well as two-time Superbowl MVP status but, when you consider that this is based upon real-world statistics and performance, one can’t help but be in awe of Mahomes sheer ability on the field whether in reality or virtually.

This list helps you figure out who the ten best quarterbacks are but you should use your judgment when selecting what works best with your preferred style of play.

Just because someone has a high ranking doesn’t mean that they will mesh well with your style nor does it guarantee a W on the field. We recommend trying out a few different quarterbacks and full team configurations to see what works best for you. After all, a skilled player will be able to overcome most challenges with a competent team.
